Chain store vintage: Target

Target (Australian version) is one of my all time favourite stores, I worked there years ago and found that the clothes were generally affordable and good quality. As it centres around current fashion trends you might not think of it as a place to find cute vintage inspired clothes, especially when your preferred decade is now not on trend. I have compiled a short list of cute basic items that although being modern still carry some 'vintage' charm.  I hope you enjoy!

Collared knit top - $40

  2. Oh my word! These pieces are adorable! I especially love that bow skirt...I'll have to see if they carry that at the Target here in the US. :)
    Have a lovely weekend!

    1. They are! Unfortunately for both of us, US Target and Australian Target are completely different brands (just to make it completely confusing!). Australia tends to have stores with the same names but belonging to completely different companies. We also have an Australian K-Mart :p

I hope you have a lovely week too!

    1. The jumpers are my favourite! I totally get that! Although US Target and Australian Target are different companies (weird, I know) I always wish we had US Target. Its so easy these days with the internet to completely fall in love with things from brands not available to your country. We only just got Topshop and Zara where I am!

  6. Very cool idea for a post series! I'm all about vintage appropriate threads at modern shops, in fact, my wardrobe would be a lot smaller were it not for this important chunk of my closet.

Target was briefly (3-ish years) in Canada, too, but they couldn't make a go of it and are shutting all their stores down this year. Sadly, they didn't bring many of the great products and elements to Canada that the US and international locations are known for, so in the end it was just sort of like an overpriced, dully stocked Walmart and I'm not surprised that they folded here as a result. It looks like you have wayyyy better offerings at those Down Under. That's great!
